My Soul Speaks (A Poem)

** There is a soul sitting beneath the layers of your presence. It talks, anxiously waiting to be heard. For the souls that speak and minds that hear — this one is for you

My soul speaks
Loud and clear.
Do I hear it?
Not always, to be honest.

Here, I confessed.
I said it out loud.
Will the demon inside me laugh now?
I don’t care, to be honest!
Do you know why?
Because my soul speaks,
Loud and clear!

Knowing what it feels.
Acknowledging the encounters,
Day and night.
From the dark mysteries,
To the simple laughter,
It feels now.

My soul-
It knows now-
How it feels to be dismissed.

So I sit alone,
And let it speak.
Like a crying child
eager for his mama’s attention
I’m all ears now,
I tell it every day.

So, you speak now,
Loud and clear.
And I will hear.

I promise!
Like I never did before.

My soul roars now!
Because it knows that I sit and listen,
Crystal clear.

My soul speaks now,
and I just listen.
